Prof. Lennart Olsson, University of Lund, Sweden
Lennart Olsson is professor of physical geography and the founding director of LUCSUS (Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies) since 2000. He holds a Ph.D. in Physical Geography (1985) specialising in desertification and particularly the use of GIS, remote sensing and spatial modelling to study the interaction of nature and society in semi-arid Africa.He is member of several editorial boards, such as Geographical Review, International Journal of Applied Earth Observation and Geoinformation, and Global Environmental Change. He is also one of the executive editors of the AAAS Forum on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development.

Dr. Robyn Smyth, is a Course Coordinator and a Lecturer in Higher Education at the University of New England in Armidale, Australia with a research interest in videoconferencing and emerging rich-media technologies. In particular, Robyn is interested in the interface between the technology and the learners. Her focus is on pedagogy in distance education and therefore, the potential of the technology to support student centred learning in this context. Her presentation will outline the context of rich-media technologies in Australia as an introduction to discussing a major project underway to investigate the viability, sustainability and scalability of pedagogies and business models underpinning the roll out of rich-media technologies in higher education.

Prof. Erik Duval is doing research on hypermedia and databases, at the computer science department of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.

Prof. Roel Puijk, Faculty of Television Production and Film Studies, Lillehammer University College in Norway.
He is the coordinator of the research project Television in a digital environments (TiDE)
The aim of the project is to analyse the consequences of digitalisation, convergence and new media for television. The project is an umbrella for different smaller projects, both pure research projects and more practical development projects that try out and document different cross-media concepts and formats. Through this project we want to establish a meeting place for researchers and television professionals on this important subject for the development of television.
The project is funded by The Research Council of Norway

Dr. Lori Schnieders

Dr. Schnieders' current scholarly and research interests focus on parenting and cultural awareness in children and adolescents. She has a special interest in how technology can be used to enhance learning and supervision, especially in the use of video conferencing for intern supervision and use of Internet2 for international virtual classroom use. She is currently working on the Children Connecting Cultures: How the World Plays Project linking research cohorts of children from around the world using a multicultural counseling curriculum which she developed.
